When you hire someone to do any sort of home improvement, like say roof repairs, the last thing you want, when they finish, is for your home to be worse than before. And it sounds almost silly to say. Because you expect that professionals would never allow that to happen. Right?
Well, a family in Michigan DID end up with a roof that was worse than before.
They hired a roofing contractor whose crew did such a haphazard job that, when they left, the roof leaked worse than before. And that led to a buildup of mold, mildew, and even moss that came through the roof.
And it wasn’t like the roofing contractor’s crew didn’t see their mistake. In fact, when they left the job, they left behind a bucket to collect leaking water. Now, that boggles the mind. It’s something you probably think could surely never happen. And, as if leaving a bucket wasn’t bad enough, the leak got worse as winter set in.
Michigan certainly gets its fair share of wet, snowy weather. So, all that moisture and changing temperatures meant costly repairs that were more expensive than the original work.
Apparently the whole initial project was set up with the help of a community action group. And that’s all well and good. But they definitely booked the wrong team for the job. And that’s most likely due to a lack of knowing what to look for when you hire a roofing contractor.
And combine that with a lack of consistent communication, follow-through, and personalized customer service, and you’ve got a recipe for, well, mold and mildew and moss.
Take a hard pass on that.
So, when it’s time for your roof’s makeover, make sure you don’t end up with something that’s worse than before. Don’t take anybody’s word when they say they do great work. Not even us here at JCRT. Check any potential roofing contractor’s referrals and past work. And look for their verifiable credentials. Then, hire a team dedicated to your full satisfaction.
Find yourself a team who treats you the way they’d like to be treated. Professionally. Respectfully.
We believe the Jack Caton Roofing Team, in Colorado Springs, IS that team. Request your Inspection whenever you’re ready. And let us prove how much we wanna help you get things done right. Because we know you don’t care how much we know until you know how much we care.
